We're M&T Electrical PAT Testing. A family run business based in Peterborough, covering the whole of East Anglia for all your PAT testing needs!
Our job is to provide a professional PAT testing service and ensure all electrical appliances are tested and to the standard in which the 5th edition IET In-service Inspection requires them to be!
What is PAT Testing?
PAT (Portable Appliance Tester) testing is a process where electrical appliances are routinely checked for safety. This involves a series of visual inspections and electrical tests carried out by a competent person to ensure that the appliances are safe to use and do not pose any risks to users.
During PAT testing, appliances are checked for any visible signs of damage or wear, as well as for any potential electrical faults that could pose a safety hazard. Electrical tests are also performed to check the integrity of the appliance's electrical insulation and earthing.
The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 mandate the testing of electrical appliances to ensure their safe usage in a working environment. While PAT testing is not a legal requirement, many insurance companies require it as a condition of their policies. This additional safety measure helps minimize the risk of electrical incidents and ensures compliance with insurance terms.
Where we come in
Our service offers professional regular testing of electrical appliances using our State-Of-The-Art PAT testing equipment, which covers general PAT testing, microwave radiation emissions testing, and basic repairing of any faulty plugs, cables, or sockets which can be fitted the same day!
Every tested appliance will receive a sticker based on its test results, reassuring the user on its functionality and when / if it needs retesting.
A few weeks prior to the PAT testing expiry date, we will send you a Re-test Reminder along with a quote based on how many appliances we did the year before!
